The story
War has come to the country of Vestara. On the first morning, sixteen-year-old Kiaan and his seven-year-old sister Mira lose their parents in the chaos. Their father has one instruction: get to Port Salvia, where the last ships leave.
You play as Kiaan. Mira follows one step behind you. If you run ahead and leave her, she sits down and cries, and the patrols hear her. You cannot leave her behind.
How you play
There is no fighting. You hide in doorways, behind rubble, in bushes and inside burnt-out cars, and move when the patrols look away. Hold Mira's hand to run together, lift her over walls and pull her up onto rooftops, and pick up bread and water on the way. Campfires are where you rest.
Every chapter adds one new danger: searchlights in the dark, a bridge that crumbles under your feet, guard dogs that hear every step.
